John C. Maxwell was born in 1947, in Garden City, Michigan, USA. Following in his father’s footstep in ministry, he graduated from Ohio Christian University in 1969, and then he earned a master’s degree at Azuca Pacific University and a doctor of ministry degree at Fuller Theological Seminary. Now he lives in Florida with his wife, Margaret. For over thirty years, he led churches in Indiana, Ohio, and California. In 1995, after resigning from church-leading at Skyline Church (San Diego), he began dedicating himself full-time to writing, speaking, and consulting on leadership.
In 2004 he is back in ministry, he serves as a Bible teacher at
Christ Fellowship Church, Florida. Since 2008 he has been a guest speaker at
Chrystal Cathedral Church, California and his teachings can be followed through the television program of
Hour of Power.
As a result of his work, his Bible based leadership approach has reached more than 80 nations. Maxwell’s vision and aim is that Christian fellowships might work efficiently in every nation, to fill Jesus’ Great Commission: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
